Dog Training Classes
At K-9 Connection we offer several levels of training to help your dog be the best he can be:
Puppy Kindergarten
The first step for the new member of your household, this is a socialization class, or supervised playtime, aimed at letting your dog be a dog! The interaction with other pups helps to desensitize your dog, so she doesn’t react negatively around others.
Basic On-Leash Obedience
This class teaches the basic commands – sit, down, stay, come, heel –using hand signals and verbal commands.
Advanced On-Leash Obedience
This is a reinforcement of the basic class, and includes the addition of other commands – stand stay, finish heel and swing finish.
Off-Leash Training
This series teaches all of the obedience commands, phasing out the leash.
Agility Training
This class teaches lots of new commands for your dog, using the different obstacles – several jumps, tunnels, weave poles, an A-frame, see-saw, ladders, balance beam, pause table and other natural obstacles. Agility training helps to bolster your dog’s confidence, and is a great form of exercise for both you and your pet. Depending on your dog’s training and skill level, some agility can be incorporated into your advanced training sessions.
Problem-Solving
Most of the training classes offered at K-9 Connection are offered on a one-on-one basis; you and your dog will receive private training sessions, not be thrown into a large class.
Because of this personalized service, we are able to help with all behavior problems you might encounter, such as barking, biting, jumping, housebreaking and animal aggression.
For socialization, we have several resident dogs that like to eventually meet the newcomers.
